Get back up

Coach Lombardi said, “It’s not whether you get knocked down, it’s whether you get back up.” Everyone gets knocked down from time to time. Champions are not people that never get knocked down, they are people who refuse to stay down.

All high achievers understand the important of resilience. They possess what I call bounce-back-ability. Their sense of tenacity won’t allow them to quit.

One of the keys of not giving up when you get knocked down is commitment to your goals and objectives. The desire to accomplish what you set out to do is a powerful force. If you want something bad enough, you do what it take to get it.

The Bible says, “Rejoice not over me my enemy, when I fall down I shall arise.” In other words I will not give up or surrender. Boxers call it heart. When it seems like they are whipped something drives them on. The great ones refuse to stay on the canvas; they get back up and keep on fighting.

Maybe life has dealt you some harsh blows. Perhaps you’ve been knocked down by the circumstances of life and feel like giving up. You are not alone. Everyone, from the smallest to the greatest, gets knocked down from time to time. The difference between the winner and the loser is simply this; winners find a way to get back up!
