Overcoming Adversity

No one is immune to bad times. We all go through them. Winners know how to bounce back for them. In this lesson we will seek to learn the qualities needed to over come adversity.

The Bible says we will face difficult times.
Jesus said "in this world you shall have tribulations, but the of good cheer, I have over come the world." (John 16: 33) the David said, "many are the affliction of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of the all." (Saw 34: 19) notice that in both Scriptures it is the assurance that although we will encounter hard times, God promises to deliver us from them.

Pray. Ask God for assistance.
Enlist his ability on your behalf to overcome the adversity you’re facing. Ask God to lead you to the right people, to give you the right idea or information you need to bounce back. Jesus said "what things soever you desire when you pray, believe that you receive than you shall have them." (Mark 11:24)

Believe in your ability to bounce back.
You have what it takes to bounce back. It is amazing how much inner you have. The of apostle Paul said, "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13)

Make the plan for recovery.
The key to winning over any of life’s difficulties, is to strategize for victory. Determine what needs to be done and now to do. Having a workable plan is half the battle.

Make the most of the situation you are in.
He added in the adversity is an opportunity to do something different. When given a lemon, make lemonade. The apostle Paul said, "all things work together for good." (Romans 8)

Enlist the assistance of others.
Allow friends and family to help you during difficult times. No man is an island. We all need each other. God's intention is for us to help and be helped by others.

Persist until conquer your adversity.
Don't give up, or stop short of total victory. Be totally committed to victory. Always remember that victory comes to those who don't quit.
